Wonderwood

 My name is Hedy Khaled, the founder of Wonderwood, a brand that makes handcrafted wood home accessories. I am an Interior Designer who graduated from Parsons School of Design, New York. 

My love for furniture, design, and nature inspired me to bring nature into the home. To me, owning a wood product is more than owning an accessory or piece of furniture. It conjures up the forest, the sea, infusing our urban life with positivity and serenity. 

In my designs, I draw on nature to create and bring to life functional and unique pieces.  Each piece is precisely unique because no two slabs from the same tree are alike, let alone two different trees. Therefore, Wonderwood’s products are as singular as your own fingerprint or DNA.

Crafted with commitment, passion, and love, every single product serves an aesthetic and functional purpose. This is why at Wonderwood, we guarantee that all our items are food safe with organic and natural finishes.

The selected trees are mainly grown in Upper Egypt, such as Acacia, Sycamore, and Indian rosewood. Local craftsmen participate in the transformation from tree to individual, handcrafted piece, a process which can take up to a year. This meticulous work ensures the best quality and durability of each and every item.

As an interior designer, I established Wonderwood to not only contribute to the beauty and wholeness of a home, but to also showcase the natural beauties that surround us and collaborate with independent and local expertise and workmanship.
