Maker Story

Niente Gallery is a curated space founded by two sisters brought together by a shared passion for art and visual storytelling. We share the same love for creating and collecting pieces that evoke feeling, atmosphere, and connection.

The name Niente was inspired by the Italian phrase dolce far niente, meaning “the sweetness of doing nothing.” While building Niente has involved countless hours of work, creativity, and dedication, it has never felt like work to us. Every painting, design, and decision is something we genuinely enjoy creating, making the journey itself as rewarding as the final piece.

Through a thoughtful collection of original paintings and digital artworks, we celebrate stillness, beauty, and the artistry found in everyday moments. We invite others to slow down, find inspiration in the little things, and collect works chosen for their authenticity, atmosphere, and lasting presence.

Jana Elmenyawi is a 17-year-old self-taught painter whose artistic journey began at the age of seven. What started with painting her favorite cartoon characters gradually evolved into a deep passion for creating original artworks filled with emotion, color, and imagination. Today, she creates pieces designed to transform living spaces, bringing warmth, joy, and a unique artistic presence into people’s homes.

Hana Elmenyawi is the co-founder of Niente Gallery, a digital artist, photographer, and visual storyteller with a passion for capturing everyday beauty. Alongside her corporate career, she has spent years exploring Egypt through street photography and creative projects that celebrate atmosphere, nostalgia, and meaningful moments. She strongly believes that our homes deserve color, character, and personality—spaces that not only reflect who we are but also bring life to the corners we inhabit every day.Together, the sisters founded Niente Gallery, combining their different artistic perspectives into a curated collection of original paintings and digital artworks that celebrate beauty, stillness, and the art of everyday living.
