Being trained as a clinical psychologist, I thought I was prepared to handle all things related to motherhood and children. But when I gave birth to my twins in October 2018, I quickly realized that I had so much to learn. Being sleep deprived and having 2 screaming babies quickly affected my mental health, my ability to bond with my babies and my relationship with my husband. I felt overwhelmed, exhausted and was on the verge of depression. I constantly felt like a failure for not understanding what my babies needed when they cried for hours inconsolably. When nothing I could do could help my babies settle, I started doing my own research to try and figure it out. That is when I realized that my babies were probably overtired and were missing that precious sleep that they needed to be able to grow and thrive.
Once I managed to provide them with the healthy sleep environment, got them on the correct schedule for their age, and taught them to self-soothe, my life changed dramatically. I quickly realized the importance of sleep to my whole family.
I am now an FSI certified Infant and Child Sleep Consultant and I’m on a mission to help other families, especially mothers, realize that it is possible to have a baby and still sleep well. I am here to provide you with the help, tips and support that you need and deserve!
How I Can Help:
“My baby won’t sleep” ….“My baby is a horrible sleeper”…“My baby won’t stop screaming”… “My child won’t nap for more than 30 minutes at a time” …. “My child hasn’t slept through the night since the day he/she was born”
If you could relate to any of the above statements, then welcome to the club! I am glad to say that I’ve been there and I’ve said that.
I know how exhausting having a baby is, and how devastating it can be when you are running on sleep deprivation. But let me tell you a secret: while having a baby is mentally and emotionally exhausting, it doesn’t need to be physically exhausting as well. All it takes is creating the perfect sleep environment for your child, getting him/her on the age-appropriate schedule, and teaching them how to self-soothe.
Now if all of this is already sounding overwhelming to you, don’t worry, I am here to help! I will not only provide you with all the information you need to get your child to sleep well, but I will also help you on this journey, making sure you have all the support, encouragement and confidence you need.
You’ll find that the truth is, there are no bad sleepers…only those who’ve learnt to sleep well and others who haven’t!
Through our journey together, we will take a deep look at your current sleep situation, your goals and how you can reach them.
